scrap those stock tires and get some ride tires!

The price I got to do the extension to the drivers stand is AED2500 (before I started bartering)
This includes all materials, galvanising, fitting and on-site generator. I think it includes powdercoating the handrails too.

As we had the interest of 8 people willing to contribute to membership, it would mean all membership fees would be used up doing this.

I think it is too expensive, but since we dont have too much choice, it is all we have....

I have tried 2, one was a dead loss, he never got back to me after repetitive phone calls and mails. The other one is the one mentioned above...

Does anyone else know someone who might be able to do this job?

in order to get the driver stand sorted i suggest we get 16 people to pay a minimum of 150 AED, that should cover it, i mean there are wayy more than 16 users on this site, given that they all make the minimum contribution we should be able to come through. i would be glad to pitch in.....

greg - i had a bout of "man flu" hit me on saturday so never made it out last weekend....

I responded to this thread about four times from my ipad and it has never shown up, so here goes again -

Its not much to get excited about, but it is less than 250 meters from your house. If you turn left out of spinneys, you soon come to a set of steps, from the top of these steps you will see the track.

The track is layed out with worn out kart tyres, it has a few wooden jumps and seems to be uncompacted, untreated sand. I didn't cross the road to have a look so it might be better than that.

The real upside is that there is a track and a track is 100% better than no track.

I dont know who built it and with or without permission, but as its close to town and cafes, coffee shops etc it wouldnt hurt for a few of us to turn up and use it now and again. I can't see anyone at motorcity getting enthused about putting together an on road track when they already have an unused off road track (no matter how bad).

i know this is a shot in the dark, but are the lights there so that it could be used at night?

Its on the corner of a junction and next to the kart drome both of which are lit at night so it might catch enough light. The pressure is on Dan now, can he make it the 250 meters from his front door to answer this and many other questions ?

Dan do you have any off roaders that you could try for a lap or two ?
