haha! i admit, i'm addicted to those mini 4wd. i got 8 of those, straight tamiya. i just remember that time that "team manila bulletin" were always on the edge..they were hard to beat and they have huge amount of entry. i just laugh at my self everytime i remember buying plasma motor for 600php and side extensions for 400 php..those were the days....missed it. by the way my speed racer is x chassis, super tridagger too. for complex technical, fm chassis with my" super atras avante " shell. if we have a track here in UAE I'll bring mine..those DTm and JDM shells are uber cool.

i was addicted to these little devils before..
maybe I also had around 8 or more.. (tamiya and others)

me and my father built a small track out of plywood and had it rented..
and was it a hit!

i had a Tamiya Great Emperor with the Zero Chassis which i was told a "hard to find" item before..
i also had the "other" mini 4WD - the Auldey. Which also was good because they came with motors
so the only thing that you really needed were batteries and a track..

my most faved chassis from tamiya is the TZ-X..
with the strength of TZ and a more tunable X chassis..

from auldey, the LW chassis - Long and Wide.

these mini-4WDs are available in Hobby Centre for i think around 20~30 Dhs if i'm not mistaken..
only problem is, as what we are having right now, there is no track available for this hobby as well..

too bad.. cry cry cry

the blue and yellow ones?

i had these before.. only two lanes and after some runs, the tires go green.. (mix blue + yellow = green)
the tracks' color fade into the tires.. lol!

but these should work.. maybe 6 or 8 sets of these and we're good to go.. hehe!
i heard that before there was a race track in sharjah but am not sure which mall 'twas..
then i heard that they tore it down already..

darn! i really miss racing these minute machines..

anyone interested in bringing this hobby back into life?
only for the willing..

very happy very happy very happy

yeah. . . i remember this one also. . . . this was the only thing i could afford coz rc was way too much off the budget for me. mine was the Rising Trigger on X chasssis. .. it wasn't all tamiya upgraded because tamiya parts were crazy expensive. . . i was into technical set ups. . . my rear wheels had blue tamiya locknuts and my fronts where one-ways. . . the rest were generic stuff.

me and my uncle(who was a cop) were really into it. the nice thing was, my uncle was assigned to an area in Cebu which was like a Quiapo. . . were street vendors sell FRP parts, bearings, tires and even motor parts like a magnets, commutators, rotors and brushes for this toy. . . and when my uncle goes home he would have a lot of parts with him and saying these guys gave it to him(i don't know the rest of the story though). . . so we'd tinker with our cars until weee hours of the night. . . experimenting with how many turns for a motor. . . what best wire to use and practice rewinding. . .

And there was this one bar in Cebu were we used to go. . . it was called "PITSTOP". when you go inside. . . the tables where around a big technical track (around 5 bridges). . . and under the table was an electrical outlet. . were you could charge. . . we would just order one grande and then just sit down for 5 to 6 hours just to "drink and play". . .

can we buy a track here? count me in if you want to revive this. . . .

maybe we can fabricate a track suited for our needs if buying the new ones will cost a lot..

i think the material Chris is using in our gymkhana bridge would work just fine..
but we need a lot of it..
if we're gonna get it from the net, i think one (1) oval track is not enough for all of us..
plus we cannot really re-design the track to make it techncal..

Who would be willing to share the expenses of buying/fabricating a race track for the mini-4WD?

please copy and paste and maybe we'll start from here..

any flat surface will do.. even if it's outdoors.. wehehe!
but it would be better to have this indoors to minimize the running area for the "if ever" cases..

maybe jay's place would be enough.. hehehe! (it's always jay's) lol!
we'll just have to move the furnitures or incorporate it with the track..
