i think he also set his clutch slip up at 0.28 or 0.38 from what i hear from his gear changes, but his heel-and-toe is not perfect since the engine is still hanging on to the revs even after he's geared down which is bad news for the transmission and clutch, but indeed his lines are spot on as well as creative and risky as everyone can see....

Can someone explain to me what's the purpose of heel&toe in circuit racing?

it is originally used in touring and was only highlighted to drifting because of initial-d lol
it is used when braking and downshifting simultaneously prior to entering a turn, and allows the driver to "blip" the throttle to raise the engine speed and smoothly engage the lower gear.

Ahhhh....so it's used for transition of gears.

I thought it was used to counter the effect of the e-brake.

By which I mean, lock the front wheels while reving the rear wheels.
