To each is his own. Probably not for everyone. It really is a matter of choice.

This looks really neat and far more spacious than VDF1. Would you agree?

True, true. Front motors seem to be becoming very popular though, that's all. It might compete with the new Sakura if the prices are similar.

I don't know what you're talking about

That front motor chassis is their new rally chassis, which is pretty cool if you are into rally. Enclosed belts and electrics, as well as those integrated mud guard things makes it perfect for dirt!
I think all the new models are coming out after the Shizuoka fair which is soon.

if they release a 'Pro' version of it, you're probably looking at a price something close to a TA-06 Pro. Which may not be bad considering the quality a Tamiya kit brings. The VX-01 really looks like it can handle anything you can throw at it. Probably best serving it's purpose. Or better wait for a CSJunky to come up with a really cool mod or a conversion from another company.

Forget CS Lance

RWD is the way to go. I've been experimenting with it, and it's way more fun. That's why the VX seems interesting. If it's released next week at Shizuoka, then I'll scrap my plans for a custom build.

I've had my hands on a RWD before.. Just did not have the patience to try out other settings - tires et al. Plus I have a pending RWD project which I'm going to try and finish soon enough. I did not find it too hard driving it as I was used to driving a really high OD rate. It can be more fun when you got it set right.

I don't have anything as of this moment to share with you. Nothing more than drawings and ideas. Maybe I'll start patenting my designs and make some money out of it.
