THE RULES FOR PEOPLE HAVEN'T SEEN YET

Restriction:

No china tires allowed
only branded hard compund tires (EnRoute, MST, Raikou, ProGrip, Spice, StreetJam, etc...)

Qualifying:

- All cars will have 3 laps in the qualifying.
-1 practice lap and 2 qualifying laps.
* the 2 qualifying laps will be judged based on the smoothness,
racing line, steering correction and drifting angle. additional points
will be given on clipping points.


Twin Battle:

- Two drivers will be paired for twin battle. Each battle consists of 2
rounds. If no winner emerges from the first battle, a second battle or
sudden death will be required. Judges will decide whether another battle
or sudden death is to be done.

- 1 round consists of 1 lap around the track. Drivers are required to cross the finishing line.

- In the Sudden Death round, drivers will only be given 1 round with the
higher qualified driver being the leader. The winner of that round will
be the winner of the battle. If no winner can be determined, another
round is required and the positions are swapped.

* In the unlikely event where no winner can be determined, it will be at
the judges’ decision to issue a different kind of challenge for the
drivers to determine the winner.

- 2 Judges will be looking mainly at:
o Smoothness
o Distance of leader to chaser
o Ability to follow the lining of the leader

* Judges will look at both cars to compare the difference in driving
abilities. Chaser is advised to be close to the leader so the judges can
better see the difference. If the chaser is too far apart, judges will
focus mainly on the leader.

- Points will be deducted for:
o Accidents
o Non-smooth drifting
o Insufficient/Excessive angle
o Steering correction
o Increased distance between leader and chaser
o Deviation from drift line

Track bits coming together...gonna need to control your drift well so as not to hit the wall peeps



Also, there will be a second small gymkhana drift track for newbies & non competitors to play on while the DC is happening on the main track...that way everybody can play.

FINAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Location: Dubai Festival City next to IKEA & opposite ACE Hardware.
RC track will be near the entrance, between Classics & Europeans.

Time: Event is from 10am to 10pm. RC track will be ready by 2-3pm. DC starts at 4pm so don't be late! After the DC is done we'll have free play until whenever we get kicked out so I hope people will stick around for awhile like back in the day.


Facilities & amenities: We will have a track for you to play on + pot space + a car battery to connect chargers to fpr LiPo charging + a few bottles of water. Otherwise it's strictly Bring Your Own stuff - chairs, drinks, gear.

How to get in: If you don't have a pass for The Meet, you cannot bring your car in. No big deal though - this is a shopping mall so there's other olaces tp park. You can park your car in a spot anywhere nearby (close to but outside the meet) in the underground paing or even at ACE hardware) & walk in. Entry is FREE.

Cameras: ALLOWED so brong your DSLRs, GoPros, mobiles, whatever! Besides the RC Drift there will be around 300 moddded & classic European, Japanese & American cars to drool over!

REMINDER: There's going to be lots of spectators amd media and the place might be pretty packed so please everybody bring your A game. Let's show peeps what GOOD, SMOOTH, CONTROLLED drifting is all about.

I attended the meet yesterday - didn't expect I would like the RC drift cars this much - was very very entertaining

It was absolutely fantastic and has me very interested now!
I'll be looking into this some more and will hopefully join you on weekends soon!
