Restriction:

No china tires allowed
only branded hard compund tires (EnRoute, MST, Raikou, ProGrip, Spice, StreetJam, etc...)

Qualifying:

- All cars will have 3 laps in the qualifying.
-1 practice lap and 2 qualifying laps.
* the 2 qualifying laps will be judged based on the smoothness,
racing line, steering correction and drifting angle. additional points
will be given on clipping points.


Twin Battle:

- Two drivers will be paired for twin battle. Each battle consists of 2
rounds. If no winner emerges from the first battle, a second battle or
sudden death will be required. Judges will decide whether another battle
or sudden death is to be done.

- 1 round consists of 1 lap around the track. Drivers are required to cross the finishing line.

- In the Sudden Death round, drivers will only be given 1 round with the
higher qualified driver being the leader. The winner of that round will
be the winner of the battle. If no winner can be determined, another
round is required and the positions are swapped.

* In the unlikely event where no winner can be determined, it will be at
the judges’ decision to issue a different kind of challenge for the
drivers to determine the winner.

- 2 Judges will be looking mainly at:
o Smoothness
o Distance of leader to chaser
o Ability to follow the lining of the leader

* Judges will look at both cars to compare the difference in driving
abilities. Chaser is advised to be close to the leader so the judges can
better see the difference. If the chaser is too far apart, judges will
focus mainly on the leader.

- Points will be deducted for:
o Accidents
o Non-smooth drifting
o Insufficient/Excessive angle
o Steering correction
o Increased distance between leader and chaser
o Deviation from drift line

with regards to the judge i suggest that participants who's not playing will be the judges.

that means no player should not leave during the DC.

we will give them let say 2 cards with different color that will represent the chase & lead.

all they have to do is just raise the card they think as the winner in that match & the most no of vote will be the official winner.

I'm down with the 'card' system...knockout style.

Like the NO THREADED TIRES idea too. Better for smooth drifting.

Here's an iPad sketch of the track layout I'm thinking of. A couple of nice long drifts, a few switchbacks, but pretty open so no excuses not to drift the whole thing. Should make for sone fun, clean drifting, tandem friendly and more about complete control of drifting technique.

Also - updated track layout. Still rough but I wanted to put it on my Mac so I could check the dimensions and stuff. Means it's to scale - each grid square is 1.5m.



Features:
- Big grass areas for the apexes. These will be taped down.
- Generally open setup with a few technical bits. Hoping for fewer crashes, finely controlled drifts & better tandems. Not a hard layout to drift but MASTERING it will test your skills!
- Raised V shaped barriers (wood) for the inner section, covered on red & white reflective tape. Will also be taped down.
- Raised / shape barriers for the outer walls (white). Will also be taped down.
- Clipping points will be added in black/ yellow reflective tape.
- Track can be run in CW or anti CW format.
- Single entry/exit & display point for cars at the bottom (near drivers' area)
- Indentation at the top for somebody to take photos or set up a gopro without blocking drivers' vision.
- Will have car battery on hand for charging in case no power outlet is available.

Recommend hard compound, non threaded slick tires for everybody to keep the drifting even & fluid. Threaded tires will have too much grip, creating a huge speed differential & bad drifting. This is not a race!

Should be a good, fun track. Let's see
