| topic migrated from some other threads where it was going OT. For 1/12 pan car using a 1s lipo, you will need to use either a small receiver battery pack , like thisOr a voltage boosterOr a 1s speed control with inbuilt booster like this hobbywingNot sure why your ESC may have fried, but without one of the above, your receiver and servo will not work too good.

| Thanks greg,
I am still considering a pan car, but need to make a decision between a tourer for 10.5T or the pan car. I cant do both. ProRC said they are ordering the x12, and the price is good. I like the idea of smaller cars because they would suit the track size, just not sure I can handle the speed, and I don't like the idea of foams, trying and all the electronics are a different size/spec...

| Exactly! If I stick with tourers, everything is standard across the board. | |

Yes, it can be a bit or expense to get setup if you already have a lot of RC stuff for 1/10 already. But the positive is that once you have the kit for 1/12, I think it is relatively cheap, the car's are fairly simple and they are fairly indestructible. Not too much to break on them and not as complicated to setup perhaps.

For the cost of a high end touring car.... maybe $550, you can buy a 1/12 chassis ($260), a 1s lipo ESC ($130), a servo ($60), battery ($70) and have some change left over for a motor or tires and body etc.

| honestly the reason my speedo got damaged cuz I accidently connected the battery in a wrong way I tried resetting it and connecting it to an other motor but no luck, I will contact tekin and see if they can get it fixed I already have a booster connected and it is working fine, I installed a hobbywing receiver now and everything is perfect, just waiting for the tires to come and will take it for a test on the track my kit has some wierd offset rims which accept only Yokomo type of wheel only, the foams I ordered dont fit and they are sticking around an inch on each side I have a 17.5 motor now in the car so hopefully if this class became popular we can have it as a standard motor for this class .
there is a Tamiya 1/12 in the market which is in lower range but can be hopped hop to compete with the famus brands, its called rm01, looks new to me and kinda great starter car for this class, .

| RM-01 has been out for a little while now, but next month they will release the TRF version which will compete with the high end models. The std version is a cheap way to get into the class. ProRC will have the X-ray version soon at a great price, and it is already hopped up. | |

| I ran the car for the first time last Friday, it was very loose in the first few laps and the rear end started to become planted lap after lap later I think this is due the tires are not trued at all, I used 35 shores in the front and Yokomo mid rear with 10.5 motor, I like the speed of this motor, not too slow or too fast, , batteries connection came loose and lost power to the receiver as well, so that ended the test run for the car that day, now everything back and connected but difinetly need a tire truer in order to run this car a gain, the premounted and trued tires avaible online dont fit this car so this might be a chalange for getting tires in the future,
