***New Axial 2.2 Scale Rig**

What is known at this time is that Axial has a new crawler in the works. A single image of a new rock crawler was leaked after a preproduction model was seen at the full-size off-road race known as the King of the Hammers. The King of the Hammers is a truly unique race that combines high speed desert racing with extreme rock crawling. This has naturally led to speculation that this new vehicle is designed for that sort of action–racing and crawling. From what we can tell, this vehicle has a molded plastic cage and a new chassis. The axles may also be new.






CKRC has them on pre-order at 349.99$ but i'm sure it'll come down when it's released. . . .

me like the body is it fit with SCX 10 ?

Would be great if it had two speeds, one for the racing bit and then the ability to drop down into a crawler gear. It will also be very impressive if it comes with the interior shown on the prototype.

World Exclusive: Axial Wraith Revealed










We’ve teased you with a couple of shots, but it’s now official. Axial’s new scale truck, the Wraith, is a dual purpose off-road machine and it has been officially revealed.

How is it dual purpose? It’s designed to go fast and crawl. This truck comes RTR with a brushed setup, but it can handle brushless. Axial made sure that the not only could the drivetrain handle high speeds, but the suspension and steering geometries could as well. On top of that, the Wraith is a highly scale rock buggy. It features a full interior and a highly detailed roll cage type chassis.

Key Features:
Axles. The axles on the Wraith are wider than the axles used on previous Axial platforms. From hex to hex, the new axle is 243mm wide. The axles tubes are a large molded single piece. A Differential cap removes much like a full-size axle and allows for easy tuning when using open diffs. The Wraith will come installed with locked diffs.

Tube cage chassis. The Wraith uses an all-new, multi-piece tube chassis design that is highly realistic and durable. The chassis is made out of molded composite plastic and held together with self-tapping hex head screws. The radio box tucked under the hood area is sealed. The Wraith is not completely waterproof as the speed control is exposed. The speed control is well protected and mud shouldn’t be an issue.

Transmission. The Wraith uses an updated version of the 3-gear transmission used in the original AX10. The transmission case now covers the spur and pinion gear. Like more recent versions of the transmission, it includes an adjustable slipper clutch, but modifications have been made to the bottom end of the transmission case as it designed to accept an optional dig unit.

Driveshafts. The Wraith features an all-new driveshaft design. They are designed without the plastic ears on the yokes that can pop off under extreme stress, and instead of being secured to the axles input shaft with a single set screw, a pin passes through the driveshaft and axle input shaft.

Body. The Wraith comes with a pre-painted multi-piece Lexan body kit.

Suspension. A 4-link, reverse triangulated suspension is controlled by four fluid-filled threaded body plastic shocks.

Electronics. The Wraith includes Axial’s AX-2 2.4GHz radio system and an AE-2 speed control with drag brake installed. The speed control was developed by Castle Creations and is compatible with Castle Creation’s Castle Link software. The AS-2 steering servo dishes out 90 in.-oz. of torque.

i personally like the upgrade axial has done to the axles

first is they made a 1 piece design for the axle tubes .... more so like the Gmade R1 axles ....

second is they have moved the pumpkin to one side compared to the version 1 which was right smack in the middle ...

third is the newly designed cvd and transmission ....

i dont like it out of the box but these axles are very much worthy of a FOFF build!

Iam loving the scale realism! Plus the fact that u can go fast. Glad I didn't get the 4x4 stampede.
