I think the M-06 Pro is just a rwd version of the M-05

Bandit, I think what Paul is referring to is that Tamiya have done this for all the M-chassis cars.

M-01, M-03 and M-05 were all FWD

M-02, M-04 and the new M-05 all RWD

If the M-06 is a rwd version of the M-05, I just hope they give it the steering of the M-03 or the M-04. And maybe make the battery holder my lipo compatible.

Can't wait for the pictures.

m-series commin out lately comes with front bumpers.. did they just thought of it now!
too late for my totally wrecked pickup shell lol
foam bumpers on top of m03s wish list very happy

btw brittle dampers that comes with the m-pro kits are all safe on that m06!!!

Jay, the M-04 also had bumpers, so it's not new for the RWD cars....

I am not so sure on the battery from below setup, Tamiya has not bought into the LiPo idea so it may be a challenge to get certain batteries to fit.....but I am sure they realise that the rest of the world is using Lipo, do they might consider that to avoid plummeting sales.
The motor hanging over the back is very 'a la Porsche' and will have nose light, tail heavy problems, but the design looks like it could compensate for that...

I like it, may have to try one some day...

1/10 R/C M-06 PRO Chassis Kit

Following the substantial release of the FWD M-05, Tamiya is proud to release the all-new RWD M-06 PRO chassis. An obvious change is the polycarbonate resin bathtub chassis which displays superb torsional strength. The layout features a longitudinally-mounted battery, which improves overall weight distribution. The motor is placed at the rear for an RR (Rear-motor, Rear-drive) set-up, which offers excellent rear-end stability for improved grip.

Tamiya M06 Pro & TA05 V2-R M06_110

Just like the M-05, a great feature of the M-06 is that you have the choice to assemble three wheelbase lengths: 210mm, 225mm, and 239mm. The M-06 PRO chassis comes equipped with full ball-bearing specifications, CVA dampers (clear), and a variety of Option Parts to enhance handling. With the longitudinal position of the battery, weight distribution does not drastically change even when you install different types of batteries such as LF and NiCd batteries. Servo, ESC, and receiver are placed on either side of the battery for optimum balance. You can change the wheelbase length by simply changing the assembly of rear section parts.

Tamiya M06 Pro & TA05 V2-R M06_210

The RR chassis features the motor and gearbox mounted at the rear which ensures ample traction to the drive wheels. Like the M-05 chassis, three wheelbase lengths are possible by simply changing the assembly of the rear section. In addition, long rear upper arms and lay down rear dampers offer great stability and handling.

Tamiya M06 Pro & TA05 V2-R M06_310

Front end shares the same steering parts as the M-05, making it possible for you to use many M-05 Option Parts. The M-06 PRO is equipped with a Hi-Torque Servo Saver and a rich assortment of aluminum parts including a horn for hi-torque servo saver, a steering link, steering posts, and turnbuckle steering rods to provide sharp steering response.

thanks paul..

let's hope they treat it like the TB-03R where the only non-carbon part was the chassis..

Re: Tamiya M06 Pro & TA05 V2-R
Post Wed Sep 15, 2010 5:03 pm by cathurga
I was initially impressed with the TB03R when it came out but there were some hopups that it didn't include that it should have....most notably the steering was still sloppy. They did include some items like the front shock arms were alloy, with a brace (doesnt look like that is on the TA05R)
At the time I worked out that once you had bought a body and ESC there wasnt a lot of diffrence in buying the normal one and doing the important hopups yourself.
I still cannot measure the value of stabilisers on the tracks we race on, but on a prepared track you might...the universals on the front are good upgrades, the shocks are the best upgrade and either way Tamiya tires suck in comparison to RIDE/SPICE/SHIMIZU/X-PATTERNS so those would go anyway...

Why do I care? I dont know? I like shafty's better anyway LOL

Ian, I know I am not Lance but if I recall, there was a D-model, as well as one with additional cosmetic parts...one had the reinforced stuff, the other did not...I think....dunno...maybe....
One was in a black box, and one in a red box...

Re: Tamiya M06 Pro & TA05 V2-R

yes andy, the red box has all the carbon reinforced but not sure if the chassis is the same. but if thats the case, then probably the red box also has a reinforced plastic chassis

thanks smile

Any one has tried the M-06?
I hope it's capable to handle low traction surfaces, unlike the M-04 which is a handful to drive.

Mister-e, M06 has not been released yet. It is going to be on the Japanese Toy show (cannot recall which one) on the 17th of this month. Usually Tamiya issues stocks to distributors prior to the shows, with release orders ONLY at the end of the show.

They should be on the shelves at the end of this month. That new HSV-010 bodyshell on the TA-05 V2-R looks like it will become a part of my garage (on the TB03 chassis)

AWESOME CAR

andy you can already get that HSV-010 shell at r2 hobbies

check HERE

they've knocked it off before tamiya launched it

if dont want to do box art you could get one now otherwise wait for the tamiya version

yeah, i think i will wait for the Tamiya version, i had a shell from R2 once before and the quality was nowhere near as good... Accept no substitutes lol
I suppose I will wait longer until they release the body shell only though.
