| hi andy .... the only thing left stock from the original R1 kit is the tranny ..... the axles have customized mounting positions to accomodate the 4" losi shocks which were an inch longer than the G-transitions ... over-all im very happy with the R1 axles ..... they are tough as nails ..... ive binded them in cracks which literally snapped the stock drive shafts off the pinions (reason for which why i upgraded to MIP CDV's) ..... i did a rebuild and regreasing of the portals, spools and pinions last night .... suprisingly the casted gears are still like new .... and believe me i've bashed the hell out of these bad boys!!! in conclusion .... if you need a rig to run and run and bash and bash ..... the R1 is good for that use .... it doesn't have the same aftermarket options as axial but it does have good parts support from junfac (which is ok if you break something) and yes the portal gears are limited to what they are .... its snugged in there without room for an extra tooth! hope we all get to crawl soon!!! | |

| I really like the the Junfac kit.....very well made. Kit instructions suck a bit, but overall the products are solid. Jun could do a hell of a lot for his business if he would learn to communicate. I am not sure if it is a language barrier, but even if that is the case, he would increase sales a lot if he employed a CS agent or at least a relations person. I know so many people who have put off buying just because they dont have someone to talk to there....
The portal axles are awesome, I would love to mount a set on the joker....I need to find a body for mine... | |

| wuhuuuuu!!! it's almost done papi strawb. . . . i will definitely come there one of these days and crawl with it. . . . @ paul, i'm sticking with shafties for now . . . . . . doesnt matter, we're not competing anyways. . . . i'll enjoy what i have for now. . . haven't even got to know my rig fully yet. . . still trying to get the most out of it, And that's the best part. . . tweaking it to it's maximum. til such time i have me enough to buy something else.. . . . as they would say, "don't give in to the urge" , i just hope i'm strong enough | |
