We had a race a couple of weeks ago too.

The word was that that was going to be the last one-off race and we would start a championship season this coming weekend.
I have not seen anything official yet, but I assume this is the first of said championship, and we will have more races every couple of weeks from here onwards.

We had 11 competitor last race, enough for 2 heats, but I think we may get a few more so maybe three heats if we are lucky.

Only got the above message via text, and there was no mention of limitations on motors/tires etc, so I assume it is an 'open' event? Previously when they have announced a race day, it is the normal message with tire and entry prices etc etc.....this time, just the above.

If it is an open day of racing, I would be happy to join with m crappy lil 13T.......and show you guys how its done....

Pretty sure it will be similar to other race days, but come along and show us your stuff. Bring it on.

If they make an issue of the 13t, which I don't think they will, then I'm sure someone can loan you a 10.5! You can slow it down however you want, but without a speed control with dynamic timing, you will be much slower anyway.

I'm pretty sure it will not be open event. Tires play an important role and need to be controlled.

Usually 4 or 5 heats and 3 finals, so charge all your batteries!

What we know from the previous events:
- Control tires, so everybody will have the same advantage
- Entrance fee which includes 1 set of tires. I believe it was 140 dhs
Max 2 sets allowed for the day where the second set of tires can be purchased for 100 dhs only.
Please note that tires will be marked.
- Minimum 4 hours of fun


I still have 2 transponders which can be borrowed if someone is willing to participate.

It will be 'fun', every race we have is 'fun' it's why we participate in this sport!

If we are playing with mini, ff or touring cars there need's to be rules, and in this case everyone else is running 10.5t. If you want to come with your 13t that's fine but if you turn up with a 5.5 and want to run your own tires then that's not cool. If it's a complete free for all then it becomes not fun any more.

ProRC want's to promote the sport and encourage participation, just like the rest of us and you also. They have spent a lot of money and effort to provide a fantastic facility..... a track and on-site shop with realistic prices. The only other thing we could want is more people to participate.

If there are enough 13T people turn up you can run your own heat. If it's only you then you can run with the 10.5t. No one is stopping people from joining as long as you don't have an unfair advantage.

Agree fully, why even when we were doing the mini championships, I was the one touting the need for 'rules'
It is awesome what ProRC have done and I am fully supportive, I have just been putting more effort and time (and money, lets not mince words here) into the aerial side of the hobby lately.
If there were a few 'casual' events I would certainly like to try my hand, and I think it would go a long way to promote the sport if there was something a little less formal for me to try my (lacking) skills, even with a 5.5T I would likely get whipped!
I am clearing out my stores at the moment, and as soon as I get rid of all the 'excess' that I have collected over the years, I will invest in a 10.5T motor and more than likely the T4's that they have in the shop at ProRC. But I do need to make space before I can do it....Apart from the cars I have advertised on here recently, I also have a shedload of planes and things that need to be flown or disposed of. Once I am down to ONE car, with enough spares to race, I will be pitching in.
