Electric is back and better than ever, 2wd or 4wd, it doesn’t matter. When you think about racing electric R/C cars – do you think about bump ups? Or 10 or 15 minute mains? Well, you should now! This event has been designed with the latest in technology in mind. Longer lasting batteries and brushless motors allowed!

Nitro is hot and it is furious. Lots of power, long mains and a great racing track – it just doesn’t get much better than this. Bring the 1/8th buggies, trucks for the ultimate throw-down!

Qualifying Race (evening time):
a) September 03 (Thurs) - Drifting & Electric category
b) September 04 (Fri) - Nitro category

Main race kicks off at the Wonderland Car Park (Garhoud, Dubai UAE):
a) September 17 (Thursday) for Drifting & Electric Category (1/10th Buggy)
b) September 18 (Friday) for Nitro Category (1/8th Buggy).

RC Race Track (on-road) is available at the Wonderland Car Park for practice from AUG. 25 till SEPT. 16, 2009.STARTS AT 8:00PM DAILY

PRACTICE TIMINGS: (after Iftar) STARTS 8:00PM
PRACTICE DATES: AUG. 25- SEPT. 02/ 09 AND SEPT. 05 - 16 /09

Hmm....I wonder how drifting got into the category?
Maybe there's another drifting crew in dubai?

Hopefully the judges apply the scoring criteria of the D1GP. +D

i gave 2 copies of the 2009 drifting cometition rules to two event organizers here in dubai.. maybe one of them is organizing this one.

i bet it will be just us battling on the drifting category lol

i've arranged for a meeting with a shop known as RC PRO located behind lamcy plaza, the owner will arrive from vacation on wed/thurs and the shop is closed on friday so i will see him saturday hopefully we will be sponsored if all goes well.

Its funny the event is hosted through facebook only, and the invitation is also through there so i'e been forwarding it to as many people as possible through mails. But i haven't seen any local ads, or LHS mentioning abt it. In fact the shops dont have a clue abt this either.

That's a great idea....but sponsor us for what exactly?

This is the same guy that was down at Zabeel the one day right? Bill was his name if I recall..

I like what they are doing, but I am a little sceptical, I thought that if they were going to do something like this they would at least get some pointers from the local community and see whats what first...

As far as I can tell, it is a marketing thing with the intention of making money...there doesn't seem to be a greater plan behind all of this. I contacted them a while back to lend a hand and help out...never got a response..

Anyway, I will go down to have a looksee, but I also feel that the beginning of Ramadan, doing an outdoor event it about the time that many people are breaking their fast is not so smart....

I am hoping to be proved wrong and it is a massive success...the hobby needs it.

Same here i tried contacting too but no response... i'm really curious what they are upto and how are they gonna pull this. Especially nitro off roads on Asphalt lol!

i'm not collecting my items from ian till 10pm..

i'll pass by the area around 8..
so, should i pick you up after i've confirmed that there is a track laid down on the parking lot?

check as late as possible as i dont think they will lay it before 7, so it should be obvious if they are bluffing.

ive been trying to contact them thru mail but im not getting any replies..
they should reschedule it same day as the adrenaline.. were all will be in auh lol
