As an initiative to perk up the RC Drifting Lifestyle in Dubai, a couple of us are giving something back to the hobby we love by organizing a competition very much the same to the successful and well attended WINTER DRIFT SERIES concluded in December 2011

With your support and generous sponsors such as Extreme Hobbies, we are hopeful that we can gain a following from hardcore drifters, enthusiasts and newbies alike to strengthen the reputation of Dubdrift as the PREMIER RC DRIFT CLUB in the UAE

Proposed prizes for the whole of the event as follows:

SERIES Drift King - Enroute JXR ver 2 Chassis Kit
SERIES 1st Runner-up - Yeah Racing Sensored Brushless Motor ESC Combo
SERIES 2nd Runner-up - 2.4 Ghz Fly Sky Radio Transmitter with Receiver

Weekly Drift King - Body Shell
Weekly 1st Runner-up - Turnigy Precision Tools
Weekly 2ndRunner-up - Threaded Drift Tires

There will be trophies for every stage until the final stage for all the winners!!!

The series is OPEN to all ….. Hardcore CS drift junkies to 50/50 newbies

A Dubdrift 2012 Drift Wars shirt will be included and will be provided for exclusively to the participants only

Entry Fees will be as follows:
1 time payment: 220 aed only
Entry to all 8 stages
Exclusive Drift Competitor Shirt

2 time payment: 150 aed only
Entry to 4 stages
Exclusive Drift Competitor Shirt

Weekly Stage payment: 50aed only
Entry to 1 stage
Exclusive Drift Competitor Shirt: 80 aed

In order for this event to be competitive, we suggest a minimum grid of 12 drifters wherein 8 will only qualify to get a stage win every week

Proposed Schedule:
Stage 1 February 17 – 4pm
Stage 2 February 24 – 4pm
Stage 3 March 2 – 4pm
Stage 4 March 9 – 4pm
Stage 5 March 16 – 4pm
Stage 6 March 23 – 4pm
Stage 7 March 30 – 4pm
Stage 8 April 6 – 4pm

Point system will be as follows: (per stage) The scoring system to be used will encourage an anything goes competition wherein you lose once …. Positions in the ranking will change!

imho. . . .i suggest we should do a poll as to how many are available during mornings and how many in the afternoons. . . because from what i've heard. . . . a lot prefer mornings. . . or we can make it 4 stage mornings and 4 stages afternoons

the intent to join should not be based on the AM or PM aspect .....

that can be easily adjusted ... however ... if timing would be the basis for an individual to join this event and not the love for the hobby .... then i dont think that would be fair to people who are willing to join whatever time we propose ....

please do take into consideration the organizing aspect as well .... lets see things from a broader point of view taking into respect all participants and not centering everything for their own personal interests

i'm only saying this because most of the players have other priorities aside from the hobby. . . they have families, so time is definitely vital for them . . .as friday for most of them is a family day. . .

i'm not saying i don't love the hobby, but i have to set my priorities. . . . family. . . then hobby. . .

but anyways. . . maybe you can work out something in the coming days

In respect for the organizers i think we should follow their timings...IMO...for other members/drifters that Fridays are the only time for thier family bonding, why dont we make it like a small gatherings for our family as well, so that they will know each other, anyways its only for 8 weeks...

If we want the hobby to grow and for this event to succeed, I think we must follow what the majority wants.

Morning session or afternoon session does matter and for me, I would go for a morning session and since this event is sponsored by Extreme Hobbies and as I believe they are open during friday afternoon, it will be best for them to organize the event during morning so as not to take there business timings.

I'd probably be able to make it to some of the 'stages' if they were in the morning.

If they're in the afternoon, I'm afraid I won't make it at all.

To Everyone,

The timings made for this event has taken much of deliberation and consideration before it was finalized by the organizers we have anticipate that some people might not able to join the event but that is our concern..

The reason behind the PM timings is in order for us the organizer to make adjustment prior to the start of the event as well as the participant for them to organized them self if incase there is a last minute changes on their kit or their schedule as Thursday night is always a busy night for everyone and we don’t want a last minute advice from the participant that they won’t be able to join in the morning due to late night activity. They would have enough time to advice the Organizer (Strawb and Eric) in the Morning that they won’t be able to join the event and for us to make adjustment to the event such as to cancel the event due less participant and other reason. For that we wont waste the other participants precious time.

The timings of Extreme Hobbies during Friday will change to 10:00 am to 3:00 pm till the duration of the event, The shop is very much open for all the participant who wishes to purchase, make adjustment on their kit, charge their batteries and other things that you have forget to do the night before the event.

Whoever can join please do so and we really appreciate it and for those who can’t please just support the event for the benefit of the hobby we all Love…

Anyone who makes an effort in orgnizing an event like this earns my respect guys. I say lets make this happen, What ever timing the organizers finalize gets my support.

I know everyones got their own priorities that sometimes gets in the way of the "hobby" lol which is until now a problem with our session timings but what can we do, you miss a stage and end up losing points. I guess making it up on the next stage is one way to gain those points back up and never miss one again. Even I cant assure that I could complete all the stages but what I can assure you guys is I'll do my best to participate in all of them. In the end whats important is that everyone gets to play all together and have fun as a team right?

When did I missed a competition anyways? Finalize the timings and I'll be there.. even with a cogging motor and my laughing-stock radio very happy
