| Oh i checked them they were empty so i filled some tamiya soft oils in it i had some lying around. And yeah i did have the idea of putting spacers in the shock piston but thats a lot of work, was looking for an easier idea :geek: But anyways will work on dat. So are you saying leaving the shocks high will get u over the plate markers, cause if i lower it any futher then it might hit on the plates instead of riding over them ??? | |

| hey vinesh.. what type of kit did you get? if its a cooper racing m-05 kit im sure it came with the stock dampers which is a plastic body friction type. so i dont think putting oil in it is a good idea, sooner or laterits gonna leak man. the one that came with the cva dampers is the m-05 pro.. thats what reck got. | |

| Jay,
No doubt Tamiya quality is superior, but you did put the PP into the wall a few times....I know, cos I was watching you and subsequently ended up in a wall myself. LOL

| MINI-MAYHEM - UPDATE 12 Sept 2009
Well, a most interesting day yesterday! We had some numbers, even without the devout mayhem squad of Greg and Duane. We also so the arrival of Bandit all the way from Al-Ain, piloting and extremely 'visible' Suzuki Swift aka Flouro-Flyer...some more on that later! It was nice to have so many guys out on the track, even if it was because of the postponement of the Drift Buffet, hopefully you guys can get that up and running...
What started out as free-run sessions, where there was lots of paint being traded, ended up being an impromptu race session.....poorly organised, but fun nonetheless. Those that weren't in the race were the designated marshalls and lap counters. An honor system was in place for missing out track markers..
HEAT 1 Wrecking Crew - Erick Blue Streak - Graham Vin Diesel - Vinesh Red Devil - Martin
All on the grid and an even start saw some jostling for position into the first turn...but Erick and Graham managed to elude the rest of the pack. Vinesh challenged into the race and there was same swapping of positions throughout, All the time Martin kept them in his sights, but was not able to catch up. A few errors saw Graham have to go around a marker after missing one, and did manage to catch up. It was a good 10 lap race and all the way into the final turns it was anyone's game, eventually Erick pipping Graham at the post to take the first place. Vinesh came in 3rd and Martin 4th.
HEAT 2 Super Swift - Andy Perilous Pickup - Jay Flouro Flyer - Bandit
The Flouro flyer powered away in the first straight, and never looked back!! The rest of us had to do battle for the second place.....an outright win. The SuperSwift was very tail happy and a non-contender, but managed to clinch 2nd place for a run in the final
In the final, there were some battles but the speed and handling of the Fluoro-Flyer was no match. Erick and Graham chalenged throughout but Bandit held on for the win...
GOOD RACING, GOOD CHIRPS and most of all GOOD FUN!!!
Once the others return, we will see even more of these races, and hopefully soon we will have the timer system to record and keep our socres. Keep and eye on the Raffle thread.

| MINI MAYHEM - UPDATE - 14th Nov 2009
Yesterday saw the new track location, although layout was similar to the previous layout with the addition of one small turn in the last section of the track.
I am not so sure Area 1 is the best place as there are a lot of 'onlookers', although it is nice to have spectators, it also gets a little crowded. We will need to make some decisions on whether it is the best option, but for GT-Mayhem we dont have much choice, because we need the space...another topic...
We had some old hands return (gerg) some new mini pilots (paul) and the usual suspects were in attendence. Jay and Reck were doing some marketing with Majdi and his crew, but arrived to add some competition to the mayhem
It was decided to have another impromptu race session, timed races of 3 minutes each. With 7 drivers it was decided to split into 2 heats.
HEAT 1 Cement Mixer - RECK Red Peril - Nitram Vin Diesel - Vinesh
The heat got underway with the normal shoulder-charges through the first few turns, and was very even for the first few laps. A few hits resulted in a change of leadership, but eventually Vin Diesel managed to get a lead out. The cement mixer was charging consistently but was kept out by Nitram for most of the first 3/4's, but eventually the mixer got past to challenge Vin Diesel, and was narrowly pipped at the final marker. The three minutes resulted in a lap count of 10 and by my calculation, all three were into the 10th lap by the end of the heat, pretty close.
HEAT 2 Perilous Pickup - Jay Team Orange - Greg Super Swift - Yours truly The Shadow - Paul
A battle ensued from the beginning and a lot of place changes occured throughout, eventually Team Orange and Super Swift emerged from the tangle and fought it out for the finish line, all very close and the lap count was similar to Heat 1
FINAL Vin Diesel - Vinesh Team Orange - Greg Super Swift - Andy Cement Mixer - RECK
As expected, it was a race to the first corner, Super Swift dropped back to allow the others to battle it out and crash into the first quarter...Team Orange appeared to have taken the lead followed by Vin Diesel...but it was never going to be easy....Super Swift catapulted itself into 3 major rols/smashups and was effectively crippled into no place..and the mixer fought hard. The 1st place position was challenged on numberous occasions by the mixer, Vin and Team orange, whilst Super Swift was forced to get into a position following the somersaults...Eventually it was Vin Diesel who scraped in for the win, followed by Team Orange & the Mixer....it was so hard fought that even Team Orange found himself in last place during the race. An epic race indeed....

| I with Andy on Area 1 have too many onlookers and reckon we head back to area 2 next week.
I have some ideas on how we can run GT mayhem there, I will share them with you next Saturday :!:

| Will be difficult to get a decent GT track at Area 2, without having pavements to slam into. It's very narrow..... | |
