Hi Cloudbuster

TB Evo is a high end Shaft drve kit & TB - 03D & R isa a mid range

Both are very good kit for drifting

i recommend this kit

TB-EVOIV TB-03D, or TB-03R Photo0374

it's a new kit from Tamiya the TA05 VDF High End Drift Kit

tamiya VDF is currently out of stock at RCMART.

hi cloud buster. welcome to the forums.

as what jdrift said, the tamiya TB EVO 4 is i high performance shaft drifter. and the the rest is mid range kits but all are fully adjustable but those mid range kits require some hop ups to get it going and to have some bling bling.

thanks! J.Drift and jebjeb. I did saw that chassis but I left it out of my consideration because the belts seem to be high taking lot of space inside the chassis, and I would like to see if I can put some kind of seats and dashboard. I would try to build a nice scaler but then I dont want to have to upgrade plastic parts and stuff.
Then I must order one of those EvoIV before they are gone!!!

You could get a TB Evo 4 from TamiyaUSA for US$230 but you cannot buy it unless you are in the USA. They will not ship to Paypal addresses or credit card buyers outside of the US so you would need to find someone in the US to buy and ship it for you. I managed to bag one a few months ago and they are very good cars, and perform EXCEPTIONALLY well.

If you are going to be doing a scale project I would assume the performance would not be as important in which case I would definately go for a TB03. It would be pointless to try and get a car with all the hopups if you are going to use it as a scaler WITH good performance...the two go hand in hand, but generally scalers with all the detail, end up being heavier and not as good performance wise..(higher center of gravity for a start)

In that case, get a high performce chassis, and two bodies, one scale and one performance...

thanks guys. yep I forgot to mention im from the US that why im wondering if the EVO IV at that price is a good deal or go with the TB03D
hmm now the EVO V for $260 that seem like a good deal too. I dont plan on spending more that $300 on a chassis.
I also saw the yokomo drift package + type C looking for their rx-7 body would that be a ggod choice too?
I want to make the rx-7 as scale as possible I think if i get the tamiya I would need off set wheel if im right the yokomo is wider.

so now EVO IV, EVO V or Drift Pack type C+
very happy
thanks all for your time! and helping me making a choice!

I would go for an Evo V if you could get it for US$260, that is a great price. Even the TB-03R isnt as nice as that, and you would need more hopups to make it anything near an EVO performance wise.....where do you see the Evo V at that price....I want one...LOL

I know you want shaft drive so that there is room to make the car more of a scaler, but it won't be very scale while drifting if you haven't done modifications to make the car countersteer.

So just for the fact that the Yokomo Drift Pack Type C is a breeze, go for the Yokomo, or get a belt drive car, since the modifications are much easier on belt drive cars than shaft drive cars (the exception being Yokomo shaft drives).

You can find these things on other websites too, but this is what you'll need:

For the rear
for the front
For the steering

From what it says there, it has universal drive shafts. My countersteer project is still a work in progress, but what I've read on other forums, people use front one ways after they can drive the car after they learn to countersteer without the front one way, since it is harder with the front one way, and then use the front one way later.

You can obviously buy it now and use it later, or you could buy it later.

By the way, have you been into RCs for a while now? Because you don't sound like a newbie at all very happy

thank you sir!
and yes I been into R/C hobby since I was 16 when I got my firts nitro airplane from there I went Electric airplane, rock crawler, off road 1/8 and now this would be my first sedan so I dont know much about onroad cars.

cool then I would order all the extras so when Im ready I just swap the parts or I might just swap them from the beginning and then see the challenge this would cause!
