| I can't access that link, but is it the one with the 4300kv motor, 35A ESC, and program card?
Because I have one of them, and I love it. And you'll always know it's not a knock off like the Yeah Racing systems, which are basically Hobbywing systems painted black.
Oh, and if you can afford it, try to get a ESC with a higher number of "A", not that there is anything wrong with this one, but the higher the "A" value, the ESC will be able to handle faster motors. For example, 60A ESC... That's pretty good.

KNOCK OFFS? As far as i know they are all the same. . . all though Hobbywing is the mother company, Yeah racing, Venom, and i think Speed Passion sub-contracts these motors from hobbywing and rebadge them. . so it's basically the same product. . . . Rebadged maybe. . . but not knock offs. . Any ways, DriftFreek. . . go for this one, i also have one "knock off'' 9t combo BL system, and its value for your money. . but if you have the money, why not invest on a Novak Havok BL system.. . that's what i'm planning to. . . if ever.

| @Chardiboi, Well that is one way of looking at it. But if you look at it that way, then isn't everything a rebadged version? Like the fake Pro-D and the real Pro-D. It's just a difference of colour and the brand name, apart from that, they are the same.
Anywho, driftfreek, if you do have the money, get a Novak like Chardiboi said. Those systems have all you need. Keep in mind, the Hobbywing motors, and all the rebadged versions of it, are sensorless. Biggest difference between sesorless and sensored is the response time.
Sensored motors are said to respond quicker, like when you start moving from a stand still.
Also, it's said that they have more predictable low speed and breaking.
But I haven't ever used a sensored motor, I just read about the differences when I purchased my brushless. So you might want to confirm the differences by talking to someone who has actually used both.

i don't think so Abdul. . . in a fake pro D and a real Pro D, there are two different companies doing the fabrication. . . with different materials, probably a much inferior material to make the cost lower, so that's not a Rebadged version. . . that is definitely a Knock off. . . but having ONE company to produce it, and then re-branding the item to a specific company whether Yeah Racing, Venom, or Speed Passion. . then thats Rebadge. . . A rebadged "Yeah Racing" Hobbywing motor and a Hobbywing motor would be the same. . . coz it's the same material. . . . . BUT a fake Pro-D and a real Pro-D,. . then thats a different story. .

| @Abdul Sir Richard does have a point, Yeah Racing is an established company. Making "knock offs" would serious ruin their name. EZrun may have had the BL system first, but that doesn't mean others can't do that same. Especially from a 3rd party company like Yeah Racing that aims to help those who have a tight budget. So I think your choice of word (knock off) is a bit inappropriate.
@Lucas The EZrun BL system is proven to be good. Bad side is that it's a Sensorless BL. Mainly meaning it 'stutters' at low RPMs. Precise throttle control may be a bit harder to achieve.
If you're looking for a long-term BL system, I'd prefer to go with Novak.

| yup. . . go for it dude. . . it's value for money. . . . I have 2 of it, a 9t and a 13t. and i'm happy with it. . And then maybe soon if you have enough budget, you can get the high end ones like novak. . | |

| If you're in a hurry to get a BL. That's a great choice.
But if you can wait a bit long. A sensored BL system would be better.

| it's basically a feature, which can make you adjust the performance of your motor according to your preference. there's a lot of options you can tweak, like how you want the motor to go once you pull the throttle, and how you want it to stop, or if you'll use lipo, you can set the esc to automatically cut off to a certain voltage so as not to damage your lipos, and a lot more. all of the options will be explained in the manual that comes with the unit and its user friendly and easy to understand for beginners. unlike the other brushless systems wherein, you need to do "combo" presses on the set-up button of the esc to adjust.

| @Chardiboi and Josh, I guess you guys are right. Don't think it's right to call it a knock off.
@Driftfreek, if you're in a hurry, go for it, it's a great system for a great price. But if you're not in a hurry, why not wait until you can buy yourself a Sensored system?
And about the PC part, I think program cards are better, they are smaller and more portable. You'll need your laptop/PC/Mainframe (lol) with you at Area 2 when you want to make adjustments, I keep my program card in my tool box - convenient.
So yeah, it all depends on how long you'll have to wait before you can afford a sensored system. If it's a long time, and you NEED one, then go for the HW, if you can wait, then go for the Novak/sensored.

| Yeah... It does.
It's also nearly impossible to cruise on a slow/dead slow speed.
I used to think it's just my hand, but after asking other people on other forums (knock off alert!), I found it it's because of the sensorless motor.

| Do the sensorless systems stutter off the line...... YES Are sensorless systems difficult at very low speeds....... YES Does it really matter for drifting .........I don't drift but I would guess NO Does it really matter for racing .......... No, Not at the standard we race at Are sensorless systems cheaper to buy...... YES Is a sensored motor combo a better system ........YES, but we are not Pro's here. So unless you are a Pro and are looking for that little extra bit of performance to get that little extra edge against your competition, then just get the sensorless system. They are cheap reliable and will give you all the power and fun you need. | |

| Gregs right the advantage for drifting and racing is minimal, the only place were sensorless will give you an edge is in rock crawling where you need the motor to be smoooooth at low power, and no motor cogging!

Not the "bang bang bang" and "trigger-happy" technique. In drifting, the tires have more grip at lower RPMs. <----- Tip to those still drifting here. You just need to know when to use it. I will agree on the second statement. One does really need to be 'immersed in the game' to understand the benefits and disadvantages of various electronics.
