| Here's my new kit guys.. 'Hope you like it.. Special thanks to: Papee Ian aka "jebolution" for bringing this here from HK through RCMart. Josh for the 3Racing center pulley Jon for coming with me to Hobby Center where i got most of my OD mods Ryan for letting me swap his 18T pinion gear. We tried the overdrive mod earlier this evening so forgive me for the dusty parts. and the wires.. looks like spaghetti on a plate. Here we go.. Tamiya TA-05 IFS ver.II- Tamiya Front One-way - Tamiya Flourine Coated Damper Set (from my TT-01) - Tamiya Touring Car Accessories - HPI Volks Racing Wheels (but will later on be replaced with a Yokomo Enkei) - HPI Bridgestone Potenza Drift Tires (T-Drift) - JR Propo ES 579 Digital Metal Gear Servo - Novak Slydr ESC with 7.5T Drift Motor - Yeah Racing Tornado Cooling fan (really helps keep the ESC cool even with long drift runs) - JR Propo 2.4GHz DSX3 Spread Spectrum Technology Remote Control System Overdrive Mods- Front : 39T pulley(kyosho) paired with 16T (3racing) center pulley = 2.44 - Rear : 33T pulley (kyosho) paired with 18T center pulley = 1.83 - Spur/Pinion : currently 70/20 but will change to 70/18 = 3.89 Bringing my FDR to 7.12 considering the ratio for the rear which brings more load to the motor I used a kyosho center pulley as a tensioner. I put a tamiya bearing, the ones you put in the wheel axle (had to sacrifice one from my old TT-01), in it to reduce friction ~ heat. Some spare plastic parts, and thank God I was able to save some parts of my tamiya mini 4wd. it did a lot of help. I had to reamer the bearing's way in. It wasn't as easy but it was all worth it. FYI: the length of the belt DOES NOT affect the gear ratio. it only serves as a link between the center and the front or rear differential pulley. it's just like the pinion and the spur if you look at it. Only they're farther away from each other Here are some close-up pics of the mods..

| overdrive mod makes your rear wheels spin more than the front. sliding would be much more easier with better drift control. but will still depend on your driving skills of course nice work lance.. lets see how it performs tomorrow. | |

| Since the rear wheels spin more than the front wheels, you can sustain a better drift angle for a longer period of time. Here's a video to help you understand. Focus on the front wheels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfAUTE5x_jk&feature=related@Jay You forgot the mention that the overdrive mod doesn't really apply to a shafty. =P | |

| it's actually possible to do this on a shaft driven chassis but there will be extensive modifications that has to be done..
it's only easier on a belt driven chassis because there is a vast availability of pulleys in different sizes.. though most of them will not snap into place, it's still relatively easier to modify to make it fit..
if only manufacturers would produce compatible bevel/differential gears for SD chassis, it would be much, much easier.. and i would prefer a shaft driven chassis over a belt driven one any day if it has the same availability of parts as the latter..
i'm still for an SD..   | |

| Here are the latest pics of the chassis and the Overdrive mod.. Specs: Front: - 16T center pulley from 3racing (not moded) - 40T differential pulley from Team Associated (increased the size of the center hole to fit the Tamiya FOW) Rear - 23T center pulley from HPI mod: 1. had to cut it in half 'coz it was too thick to fit. 2. increased the center hole to fit the spur gear holder. 3. had to fix 2 medium-length grub screws to make it rotate with the spur. - 33T differential pulley from kyosho mod: had to increase the center hole to make it fit the Tamiya rear spool (front direct coupling) Close-up on the center pulleysNotice the screws encircled:- had to let it protrude so it won't stick to the other pulley and avoid damage on the belt. 40T Front differential pulleyChassis Pics:Thanks to everyone for the help and inputs.. Now, it's time to counter-steer!   | |
