| if you want a starter kit we recomend TT01D it good for starter to drift but limited in feature. which im sure when you start & learn you will crave for more challenging kit. & i think it cost almost 1000AED for the artr. all you need is battery & charger to run it. http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=58349 | |

| welcome tugz so the site! about buying a kit, i would suggest you go for intermediate... why? coz sooner or later you will be ADDICTED to upgrade your kit (if you buy the starter kit) and will be buying a better one... so go for the more advance kit. it will not cost you that much but believe you me, it will give you savings in the long run. intermediate kits usually comes with ball bearings, decent drift tires, hop up parts which eventually you will buy if you get the basic kits. check out the FOR SALE thread, we usually sell some kits here (used and new ones) |

| TUDZ,
Any reputable brand is suggested. I know that there are many models out there, and some of them are good, some of them not so good. I have not heard of RedCat before, and cannot comment on their quality. What I can tell you is that should you start breaking things, and you will, you will likely have very few options to get spares. Dubai hobby shops have little in the way of spares as they have a slow refreshment policy on all products. When they do have them, they are competitively priced and it is great to be able to walk into a shop to get them. With RedCat, you will not have that option. Swapping and selling between local drifters is common, but again, with an unknown brand you will be 100% reliant on the web for your spares.
I would suggest spending the money on a good kit, HPI and Tamiya are good brands, and are very user-serviceable...and parts are easy to acquire..... | |

| hey tudz, welcome. i agree with bandit 100%. anyways there is one more kit of tamiya TA05 IFS left in toys and us, a lot of us are using this type, it is a kit so you have to build it yourself. it has the important things like camber and ackerman adjustment and full ball bearings. you'll need radio, servo and batteries and it has lots of available upgrade parts, and its tamiya so it is of good quality | |
