| Hi all, Andy checking in and saying HI! Some of you know me, I am the trouble causer that has brought mini-mayhem to the Zabeel Drift Gymkhana We are coming to play on your forum, and hopefully we can get some of you interested in mini and touring racing, and hopefully some of the mini mashers will get into some drifting. | Thanks for the greets people :-) Ryan, M-04L is also mini class, they are good fun but quite difficult to drive quickly. They are rear wheel drive so when you give it juice in a corner, it is likely to spin out (you drifters might be able to control them, but if you have ever tried drifting a 2wd rc car, you will know what I mean). They also tend to 'swap ends' when you hit the brakes....even in a straight line! Mini racing is most popular with the front wheel drive cars. M-01 FWD but very old M-02 RWD also old M-03 FWD these are the most popular at the moment M-04 RWD see above M-05 FWD just been released by Tamiya, the new version of the M-03 There are different types of M-03. The 'vanilla' then there is a M-03M medium, M-03L long All M-03's are similar to drive and all competitive with each other. The best thing about mini's is in stock form they are fun to race, they are cheap(er) to buy and parts are easily available, and they should be for a long time. The M-05 is going to have a lot of the same parts. The best thing is they are TOUGH. I have not managed to break one through normal use....sure, if you smash it into a wall....it will break :-) check out these guys.. www.rc-mini.net they have everything you ever need to know about mini's Hope this helps. J, I did get your mail, and we look forward to having you and Erick around for some fun. Including you guys, we have almost 10 people....almost time to include heats and finals Just remember, the mini cup rules state that gentle nudging is allowed, so dont expect your body shells to stay as nice as some of your drift shells I replied to your mail earlier. I have tried the drifting, and I will try some more, but I am battling to get the hang of it. | |
