| As per request, a few pics of my TB EVO 4. What an absolute blast to build! I have built many many Tamiya kits in my life, probably close to 30 of them, and this is the first TRF type I have done. All I can say is that there is a massive difference between these and a std kit, event the TA-05 is nowhere near as complex as this. As usual, Tamiya quality is exceptional, the materials are awesome, packaging and instructions are great and the build experience is just stunning. I have taken the time to make some mods as I was going along. I added shims to places where it is required, I think the diff mesh/backlash requires some different shimming to what the manual says, but they do say that it can change from car to car. I have altered the steering geometry a little and with the electronics I made some changes simply for neatnes. Cut the servo wire down and put on new plug. The servo is a Tower Pro special, but is metal geared and torquey, and pretty quick. The ESC is an el cheapo (AED128) from Joy corner. I couldnt fit the TEU 101BK in there, and this unit has a BEC built in and is TINY. I am not impressed with the way it works, but some testing on the track will be my guide. I also cut the servo wire down on that. The battery leads were short anyway, so just put a Traxxas plug on it. I cut the motor wires and soldered them to the motor for neatnes.. This car is buttery smooth, and there is very little slop in in any components. I had to do some mods to the battery compartment, and to the batteries, but the mods are useful to all my cars, so was not a problem to do. GREAT build, attention needs to be paid to the instructions! I am glad I got this, and at US$300 shipped, it is about the same as a TA-05 price, with a few hop-ups.

| I got it from TamiyaUSA, they are on special for US$230. I got a guy in the US to help me out because they dont accept int'l orders. Shipping to him was US$12, and another US$40 to here. It is an old model, has been replaced by the TB EVO 5, but they normally go for about US$500.....a no-brainer for me really.... | |

| looking great! very neat andy, you did shortened most of your wires. with the small esc you got and the receiver placed sideways you were able to put all the electronics on one side and all of them attached to the lower deck. body post and shell in the works? soon if ever we move over to bl system its gonna be a mess like mine lol you'll be forced to place your receiver over the servo like i did. plus more wires lol looks like the evo's got a place on your bed right now | |

| J, thanks. If I go to BL, I might be able to fit everything in the one side, I will get the HW 8.5T motor and solder the wires directly on to the motor tabs like I have now. The HW esc's are also very small so could possibly fit everything in as it is. I might not go to BL though, I have a Tamiya GT tuned motor that should be pretty quick, and speed is not everything, I want this thing to corner like it is on rails. The only change I would make is a spool at the front. With the one way, any sharp braking is going to make the tail swing around because the front is not braking. I have also left the rear swaybar off because our track does not have enough traction for it......I will also take the softer springs off my TB02 for the front for more traction. For a body, I will probably stick with the NSX for now, although I think T&U had a Ferrari Modena body that would go nicely on here.. | |
