PostSubject: attempting to revive an old much loved hobby   Sat Dec 29, 2012 6:52 pm

Hi All,

Since i read a post of your event on Crank and Piston, been interested in bringing my touring car back to life as a drifter.

used to use an HPI RS4 pro2 back in leb, did some nice racing in it, but last time it ran was in 2004. chassis is in excellent condition, running gear might need a revisit with a change of belt and such. I have two motors, sadly not brushless, as those were still not in use when i raced. i also had sold my old transmitter some time after i stopped, so will need a crash course in where to get stuff from for a logical price. i'll need batteries, not sure mine will work, a charger, sold that one too, a body, and transmitter, the rest of the stuff i think will do to start.

any tips on a shop in Dubai to scout for options? and is it cheaper to start over with an RTR kit rather than buy components for an old chassis?

and of course i'll have to get my drift back.

looking forward for some coaxing from you guys. all the best.

Ronster

just need drift tires, lock your reaar diff to start.

add a front ine way diff and change the gears to overdrive the rear tires later on (optional).

or you can just reuseyour old electrics in a purpose built drift chassis like a JXR for around aed 1500.
