| **UPDATE 1 - 4th July 2009**
Hi All,
For those that weren't there to witness it, there was indeed some mayhem last weekend! The madness was a a result of there being EIGHT, yep 8 drivers.... Green Lantern - Graham Son of Blue Streak - Colin Baby Blue - Jamea Adihash - Duane Team Orange - Greg Red Devil - Martin Super Swift - Andy ..and a guest appearance from The Blue Streak...
Not only was it a great laugh and great fun, it was also a disaster with regards to frequencies and some of the new guys are considering a change to 2.4Ghz in order to minimise the problem. Apologies go to all the drifters who ended up doing donuts instead of sliding corners....we will correct this asap.
J frightened the life out of us with the unveiling of the M-03R which looks AWESOME with its blue bling, but unfortunately he had no electronics so we will await his return from vacation in order to witness its abilities. Hopefully Reck will be back soon, and I understand that he will be joining the madness as well. Soon we will be planning a little competitive outing, and will have enough drivers to have to heats of 5 each, and then Final and a Plate Final.
ANy suggestions, recommendations and comments welcome.
Regards | |

| Hey all,
No update recently, although the past weekend was a a long weekend, and the week before, we got chased away from Zabeel. Before they chased us away, we had a few laps in, I am sure you have seen the pics that Martin posted. I did see his youngsters there taking pics, and it is good to see them presented. We need to document all the events :-) Thanks again Martin!!

| **UPDATE** - First August Run
You were missed today Martin, but there is always another time :-)
There were only 3 of us, but the competition was FIERCE, some very closely contested races. The Green Lantern was in for repairs, so Graham had the legendary Blue Streak out, Greg in Team Orange battled well and the Super Swift was in experimental phase with different tires, but challenged well. The new track is a good one, albeit a little smaller but made for some technical turns and after we had dispersed some of the dust, was an ample running area. The location is a good one, made better by the fact that there is a shop nearby with toilets and also a cleaning station with compressed air.
It was a good day of riding.
We will also use the Safa park area during the week as it is a little closer for the guys to get to after work and still give us enough time to race before the sun disappears.
Jay, get busy with the paintwork, but dont get too creative, we do like to trade paint....not on purpose of course.
Reck, if there is anything you need to get finished, let me know.
Regards | |

| Reck, I dont think I have any of the TEU-101's left, but I might have a Tazer unit that works. If I recall, it isn't as small as the Tamiya ones, but I am sure it works. Which pancar is it, and is space a problem? Normally those pan cars have quite a bit of space...unless it is 1/12 scale.
BTW, I traded the two TEU-101's for a F103 chassis, I am turning it into a Jaguar Le Mans car. When the weather is better we will have to take a trip to the Al-Ain track....its probably the only place to run a pancar or a racer...
I am not going to be here this Saturday, I am going for a weeks vac...if you need the ESC before that, let me know.

| Hey All,
I am going on a short vacation for a week, starting Saturday. I will be back the following Saturday but not in time for a mini run.
I am not sure if the other guys are going to be around, but hopefully when I get back all the mini drivers will be ready to rumble.
See you later in Aug. | |

| Hey All,
I am back, and itching to get some mini action! I have had a whole week of no toys, and need a fix!
Looks like there was no racing the last two weeks, so lets sort that out!
This coming Saturday, at the normal spot, from 5PM. I am going to repaint the track markers and get them ready to roll!
So, who do we have Jay - You got that machine running yet? Jamea - Long time man, you ready to roll? Martin - Dust the cobwebs off the Red Devil? Reck - Keen to see what you have done with your rig. Greg - you gotta be around!
Graham is away and not sure about Duane, he never checks in on these forums.
If anyone is keen on a Tuesday evening run, say YO!

| I've got visitors here next week end so I'm not sure if I will make it. After that I am out of town for two weeks but I arrive back on 12th Sep so its possible I could make it for that afternoon but will have to see how I feel on the day.
Hopefully when I get back we will have some more drivers......
Over then next week or two I will be doing some maintenance too. I need to put bearings in the gearbox and I may also try and shim up some of the slop in the suspension to see if I can stop this random steering to the left that happens when I reach top speed on the straights. Not sure if you other guys find this, but mine seems to have a mind of its own sometimes.

| yup same thing here.. sometimes it gets a little twitchy on the straights.. specially when you hit the breaks. is this a normal behavior of the minis? or maybe its because my dampers not even.. i got 3 cva dampers and 1 friction damper on the rear lol anyway enjoy your vacation greg.. will be waiting for your return | |

| Subject: ** UPDATE - 23rd Sept ** Sun Aug 23, 2009 1:06 am | |
| ** UPDATE - 23rd Sept ** Fun day today, and what made it extra interesting is that there were some M0-5's on the track!!
JAY - piloting the PERILOUS PICKUP - Awesome paintjob and detailing there feller. After a few tech glitches, hauled around the track like an old expert.
VINESH - piloting SILVERBACK had a touch too much toe out, and needs to do some tuning on the steering rod, but otherwise the M-05 was doing very well indeed! He tried hard to keep the body neat for shelf duties, but a 10m slide on the roof saw the end of that idea.
RECK - at the wheel of the WRECK-SPEC M-05 proved that the new chassis is VERY competitive, sling nice and low, it has MUCH potential.
ANDY - started out with the SuperSwift, but eventually destroyed a Universal joint and retired. Enter the BLUE STREAK and in combination with the RIDE slicks proved a sharp as a tack. With the BL motor it is unfairly quicker, but the legend lives on!
MARTIN - The RED-DEVIL was once again hauling around, but a few tech glitches and a limited time to play meant a short visit.
Was great to have all the people out and I am sure that when the others have retruned from holidays and the weather is better, a turnout of 8+ will be great.
See you all next time

| After few inspections and cleaning i noticed few scratches on the body edges thaz all I have fixed a ball end on the servo horn and attached the servo rod that looks good and stiff now not very wobbly like before. have also tuned up the tow-in. Everything looks alrite now. Must find a way to lower the suspenisions too. Any tips And hopefully i should get the car running better next time until then  | |

| Vinesh,
The only way to drop the suspension is to put spacers under the shock piston. The esperts believe that on a smooth track you ony need about 5mm of travel, but on our track, and with the plate 'markers' I keep it lifted a bit.
To get the spacer in there (use nitro fuel tubing or a few small washers in a stack), undo the lower shock mount, push the piston out and pop the spacer in there, re-assemble. Done.
Those shocks that you bought should do, not sure if you knew, but they do not come with oil in them....
