| Hi Dubdrifters before I start asking anything about this hobby and I really don't know about the RC thing and this is my first time. I've red all your posting here in your forum and you guys are very helpful and friendly. I already recruited 2 of my friends to join in this hobby and they really want to. They want me to do the research first and relay it to them. I am currently playing airsoft and member of UFAC for more than a year now and I knew that you guys are playing airsoft before maybe I can remember some of you guys or maybe not. hehehee... I hope I can meet you soon.
Just a quick question which is better starter kit TT01, TA05 or TB03?
2. which radio controller much better for starter?
please help me. | |

| hi dhelle! welcome to the forum.
im a former UFAC member as well and played with SWAT team some 2 years back. many of the guys here use to play airsoft too.
about your question, for starter kit, TT01 is the best but if you want to go or opt for more, then better go for TA05 or TB03.
as for the controller, go for a decent 2.4ghz controller that can accommodate at least 3 to 4 kits as you'll get addicted to this hobby and you'll be buying more kits sooner that you'd expect... just ask JASON-MMI (Keichi...) he started with TT-01. now he have TB03D, VDF and a mini tourer and just recently bought a speed boat. | |

| Welcome... For a starter kit the TT-01 is ok, but it reaches the limits of its abilities pretty quick, and at the end of the day, no matter how much you put perfume on a pig, it will always be a pig TA05 and TB03 are based on the same chassis, the TA05 is belt drive, the TB03 is a shaft drive. Some say the shafties suffer from torque steer, which in fairness if they are not setup properly, will have it. The motor axis is paralell to the cars axis which is one of the reasons why, but set it up ok, and there is no problem. The TA05 has a motor which lies perpendicular to the cars axis so no torque steer is apparent, but the belt drives, diff and spur/pinion are open so maintenance is more frequent. You also have the added hassle of trying to keep wires and things out of the way of the belts. If set up properly, the cars are VERY similar in performance. I would say as a beginner, the TB03 is a little cheaper normally and to start with is good for touring and drifting. Some hopups to consider on both cars as a starting point are tires (kit ones are pretty useless), steering upgrade (ball bearings), ball bearings wherever there are bushes and a bigger (steel) pinion, the stock speed is sloooow. With those you have great start point for a tourer. Once you have that done, a bigger motor and some decent shocks and you will compete on a decent level. I am sure the drifting guys will chime in with some drift options when you need them... | |

| Welcome bro! In regards to your first chassi, tb03d is cheaper than than ta05v2. It's my first time to assemble this kit(tb03d) and there's no major issue in the manual, easy to follow. It comes with drift tires too. I think it's still available at toy n us. Again welcome and happy drifting! | |

| yep.. the names are confusing.. It's not Toys 'R' Us, It's Toys '&' Us.. 04-3432303 Btw, welcome to the site. It's that hard to drift.. you just need to put some drift tires and you'll be good to go.. But if you want your car to drift easier and better, some set-ups are required. - Front one-way - for the e-brake effect where the rear easily slides out when you apply the breaks - Spool/Solid axle in the rear - just makes it easier and helps you slide in longer curves, - Camber, toe and suspension settings - explained HEREHope to see you and your friends soon. | |
